Erasmus+ Student Traineeship Mobility:
Students can undertake traineeships abroad in a company, research institute, laboratory, organization, or other related field of study. Traineeships abroad are supported for students at all educational levels and for recent graduates. Traineeship mobility includes teaching internships for prospective teachers, research assistantships for students, and relevant research activities for doctoral candidates. The traineeship must be a complementary part of the student's study program.
Erasmus+ Student Traineeship Mobility refers to full-time traineeships, either mandatory or optional, recognized by the higher education institution as part of the student's study program. A full-time traineeship is one where the student works full-time throughout the duration of the activity. Full-time working days are determined by considering the weekly working hours of full-time employees in the host country.
Student Traineeship Mobility is an activity where a student enrolled in a higher education institution undertakes a traineeship abroad in a company, research institute, laboratory, or organization related to their academic field of study. Attending classes at a higher education institution is not considered an internship. The duration of the activity is between 2 and 12 months, applicable separately for each level of education. The maximum duration of the activity is determined by Yozgat Bozok University and shared with students in the internship mobility announcement. Internship activities can be carried out in any class during the education period, and for students in the final year of their programs, within 12 months after graduation. For post-graduation internship activities, the application must be made before the student graduates (while they are currently an associate, undergraduate, or graduate student). Graduated students cannot apply. Post-graduation internship mobility must be completed within 12 months of the graduation date. The total duration of the post-graduation internship and the mobility period carried out by the student at the same level should not exceed 12 months.
Examples of Suitable Internship Locations:
Any public or private sector organization located in one of the countries where the internship activity can be carried out, operating in the labor market or in the fields of education, training, youth, research and development, can be considered an internship location. While not exhaustive, the following organizations can be considered examples of suitable internship locations:
- Small, medium-sized, or large-scale enterprises in the public or private sector
- Local, regional, or national public institutions
- Embassies or consulates of the sending country abroad
- Chambers of commerce, trade associations, stock exchanges, and trade unions – any type of business organization/association
- Research institutes
- Foundations
- Schools/institutes/training centers (any type of educational institution from pre-school to high school, including vocational or adult education)
- Non-profit organizations, associations, NGOs
- Institutions providing career planning, professional counseling, and information services
- Higher education institutions (Higher education institutions in program countries must hold an ECHE; higher education institutions in partner countries must be recognized by a competent authority in accordance with their national legislation and have signed a bilateral inter-institutional agreement with the sending institution prior to the internship activity)
The following organizations are suitable for higher education internship activities under Erasmus+: Not suitable for:
- European Union institutions and EU agencies (see https://europa.eu/european-union/about-eu/institutions-bodies_en)
- National Agencies and similar organizations that implement EU programs.
Status of Students Whose Enrollment is Suspended:
Students who suspend their enrollment cannot undertake study mobility or compulsory internships during the period in which they suspend their enrollment. Whether a student who has suspended their enrollment can benefit from mobility in the case of optional internships is at the discretion of the higher education institution. Applications for study or internship mobility can be made during the period of enrollment suspension.
Internship Activity Duration:
The minimum duration for internship mobility is 2 full months, and the maximum duration is 12 full months.
In the case of internship mobility, the internship may be interrupted if the internship company is closed due to holidays. To ensure the minimum activity duration is met, it is necessary to investigate the dates when the internship company will be closed in advance and to ensure that the minimum duration is met even after deducting the holiday period. Weekend holidays are not considered holiday time to be deducted from the activity period.
If students return before the minimum duration is completed, except in cases of force majeure, the activity will be considered invalid and the grant will not be paid.
The duration of student mobility undertaken by a student within the same educational level (undergraduate, graduate, doctoral), if any, as an Erasmus Mundus scholarship recipient or during the 2014-2020 Erasmus+ period, and during the new Erasmus+ period (2021-2027) will be considered invalid.
