FAQ

What is Erasmus+?

The grant support provided in the field of higher education under the Lifelong Learning Programme, which was run by the European Union Commission between 2007-2013 and ended in 2014, will continue under the Erasmus+ Programme between 2014-2020.

The Erasmus+ Programme aims to provide more effective tools that encourage cooperation between different sectors in line with the European 2020 Strategy objectives for new needs in the fields of education, youth and sport.

Specifically in the field of higher education, it aims to improve the quality of higher education and strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions and the business world.

The target audience of Erasmus+ activities, in the broadest sense, includes institutions and organizations involved in higher education, their employees, and students. Applications can only be made by institutions and organizations, depending on the type of project, to our Presidency or to the Educational, Visual and Cultural Executive Agency, the relevant unit of the EU Commission. Individual applications are not accepted.

How can we benefit from the student exchange program under Erasmus+?

The Erasmus program is open to higher education institutions in the 28 member states of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway (members of the European Economic Area), and Croatia and Turkey (candidate countries for EU membership), all of which are participating countries in the LLP/Lifelong Learning Program.

What should we do to participate in this program?

To participate in the program, you need to follow the application announcements for the new term, which will be made through our university's Erasmus website (erasmus@bozok.edu.tr), and the posters that will be posted in certain places within the university, and follow the specified steps.

Can we apply for and benefit from both Erasmus+ learning mobility and traineeship mobility in the same year?

It is possible to apply for both learning and traineeship mobility in the same academic year, and those who benefit from Erasmus learning mobility can also benefit from traineeship mobility.

The university we've been placed with for the Erasmus+ learning mobility program requires a B1 level English proficiency score. Therefore, is the Erasmus exam we'll be taking at the B1 level, and if we pass it, will we meet the university's requirements?

Students wishing to participate in the Erasmus+ Learning Mobility program will take an exam in the language they chose on their application form (English or German). Those who score B1 or higher on the language exam will be ranked based on a score calculated by taking 50% of their exam score and 50% of their overall GPA. You can find out what B1 language level score corresponds to via the following link:

It is important to note that most universities require language certificates for student admission. The required language certificates vary depending on the university. For example, some universities require language certificates in their native language, while others require English or different levels of language certificates such as B1-B2-C1. Therefore, you should research the universities you prefer by visiting their websites during the application process.

If we have a language score like KPDS-ÜDS-TOFEL-IELTS, do we still need to take the Erasmus exam?

If you have a valid language score, you will not be required to take the Erasmus exam and will be evaluated based on this score if you bring it to our office within the specified dates. This applies to both study and traineeship mobility.

Where can we find the academic calendars of the universities we prefer?

You can find the academic calendars of the universities you prefer or are accepted to by researching them on their websites. We also announce these notifications on our Erasmus website in the news and announcements section as we receive them.

Will canceling or not approving my Erasmus+ entitlement prevent me from participating in the Erasmus program in the next semester?

Students who cancel their applications after the deadlines given to them during the placement process will be penalized with -10 points if they apply again the following year.

Can final year students benefit from Erasmus by failing some courses in the second semester?

The application requirement for associate and undergraduate students is 2.20. You can participate in Erasmus for one or two semesters as long as your student status continues; the important thing is that you must have 30 ECTS credits for each semester.

Do I need to have no failed courses to apply for Erasmus+ learning mobility?

There is no such requirement; it is only necessary for associate, undergraduate, and doctoral programs.
